Molds can become a problem to health and lead to flu like symptoms …

health dangers of mold sporesMost of the time these terms, mold and colds, are put together because of the similar sysmptoms that arise from them.

It is understood that mold and colds are put together because black mold can cause sickness to one’s body. The bodies lack of antibodies from the mold symptoms will lead to a breakdown in the system.

Mold and colds are caused mostly by having too much toxins in the system. Since mold toxins are know to cause fungisitis, which is known as mold growing in the nose.

Colds become a current implication. The excess mucus which has spores will create fungus that can be harmful to the system, this happen quite a bit if the individual’s immune system is compromised. Many popular molds such as aspergillus and stachybotrys are known to be related to molds and colds. These black molds are the most recognized in common households and basements and can become a problem if not taken care of correctly.

If looking for mold protection, one should take action immediately and go through the correct mold removal techniques. If you have a water damaged drywall that is left to sit and dry on it’s own, it is very common to begin seeing black mold on the surfaces of those walls. After the spores begin amplifying the toxins the release will be inhaled by whoever is inside the confined area. This is popular event that happens creating mold and colds to be associated together..

When dealing with a cold the body’s immunity is overwhelmed from stress, and overworking the system. When you have mildew and mold inside the body it is an extra challenge for the body to fight. The toxic mold spores decrease the bodies immune system and  usually you will find a cold will result. Your nose will begin feel stuffy symptoms and have extra mucus. The best thing to try is meeting with a doctor who understands toxicology and there is always an alternative by using an organic mold removal product, hiring a certified mold inspector to look at the area, they will then write protocols for a qualified mold remediation and decontamination company.

Health Concerns and the Need for Mold Removal

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Mold and its effects on the human body have been well studied. There are definite relations between breathing conditions and getting exposed to mold.

People that already suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are more susceptible to lung infections when exposed to mold. And if the people with asthma could also develop a severe asthma attack if exposed to mold. There is good evidence to support that mold causes things like rhinitis, urticaria, conjunctivitis, and nasal congestion. All of these health concerns lead to the need for mold removal. Some mold is easily seen, while other mold maybe hiding behind walls, in basements or around pipes. This makes removing mold completely difficult.

Now these tips are coming from an experienced water damage San Diego company.

Finding mold in our environment is a natural occurrence. The molds in nature are all a part of the life cycle. They are there because they are successful in breaking down organic materials such as leaves. Mold reproduces by spores and this is how it finds its way into our homes or place of business. When spores are blown onto a moist or wet surface they are able to stick to various structures and multiply. This is why making sure to  control moisture in buildings  is very important when controlling mold. Mold removal is a difficult job especially if it has taken hold. And during removal, spores are released into the air, looking for
another target.

Health concerns are cause for concern when free spores are present. These spores that are airborne cause the allergic reactions, irritations and can be inhaled into our lungs. Anything that spores grow and live on they destroy. Mold removal is necessary. You might think this project is something you can take on for yourself, but there are some guidelines to follow. If the area infected by mold is less than ten feet, the EDA states you should be able to take care of the mold yourself. But if the infected area is larger, they do suggest that a professional should be hired to do the removal.

If you feel it is an area you can handle, make sure to follow a few precautions before beginning the  mold removal . First thing to do is protect yourself from breathing any mold spores by putting on a N-95 respirator. These cost between twelve and twenty five dollars each and can be found in hardware stores or online. Second, you should put on long rubber gloves.Don’t use bare hand to touch mold. Third, be sure to wear goggles and be sure they don’t have ventilation because this will protect your eyes from the mold spores. Now you are ready to start cleaning. Begin by fixing leaking pipes and then scrub all the mold off with a disinfectant/ water combination or chlorine bleach/watermixture. Following the cleanup, the next thing to do is dry everything. Remember the key is moisture control. If you don’t take care of the mold, there is a high likelihood it will return.

Follow these key steps as they have been gained from years of experience as a mold removal San Diego company.

Mold Spores And Allergies

Friday, March 13th, 2009

A mold allergy can be misdiagnosed as being an allergy to a scent or a food. The most common allergy to mold manifests itself as asthma, but people who do have an allergy to mold or mildew can also have watery eyes, sneezing, stuffy nose, a cough or a skin rash.

mold health problems, sneezing If a person already has asthma, mild exposure to mold can bring on an attack, where as a person without asthma may not even be bothered by it. Small amounts of mold, such as that on a shower curtain, are not serious and will not cause a mold allergy.

If you are exposed to large amounts of mold or mildew, you should  take steps to get rid of the source of mold.

Some kinds of mold produce mycotoxins and the symptoms of this is much more severe than a mold allergy. Black mold, for example, results from heavy water damage, such as in a flood. You can usually smell the mildew in a home when you first enter it, but for those living there they are so used to it that they don’t recognize it as the cause of their mildew allergy.

Moisture and warmth are the two conditions under which mold spores grow at a rapid pace. Even though you may take extra care with cleaning, if some of the water seeps into cracks and crevices, mold can grow in very tiny places and this could be the cause of your mold allergies. Just because you can’t see the mold or mildew doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. Sometimes, you can smell it before you see it and it is then you realize that what you thought was sinus problems could be a mold allergy instead.

To keep your mold allergy to a minimum, you can make sure that you control the level of humidity in your home. The normal level should be below 40% . Use an air purifier or air-conditioner or  use a dehumidifier . In this way you can help prevent mold and mildew from developing. Under ideal circumstances, you should remove carpeting from the bedrooms of your home, or at least from the room of anyone that has a mold or mildew allergy. Foam rubber pillows and mattresses are also breeding grounds for mold and because they are dark, closets are also likely places where you can find mold.

When someone in your home has a mold allergy, it does mean you have to make sure you dry everything before you put it away. Boots and shoes should be thoroughly dried before you put them in the closet and you should use bathroom cleaning products designed to kill mold . An exhaust fan in the kitchen will help moisture from cooking to build up and you should empty the garbage container before it starts to smell. All of these tasks are normal things you can do on a daily basis to help prevent another outbreak of a mold allergy.

If mold is already present it might be advisable to  use a breathing mask when starting to clean it up because you will disturb the spores that will then fly around in the air and otherwise enter your lungs. Or arrange for a specialist to come and do the job.
