Ideas On Cleaning A Shower Curtain

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

There are some things that you can do to make your shower curtain last you longer. There are certain little helpful and handy hints that are designed to keep your bathroom looking clean.

Because the shower curtain is always exposed to water moulds usually form on it. One thing that you can do is to remove the curtain maybe once every two or three days and hang it out in the sun. This will give it a chance to completely dry and kill any germs and bacteria that are likely to be on it.

Another option is to wash your curtain whenever you do your laundry or more regularly if need be. The thing is in addition to your normal laundry detergent you can add a cup of vinegar and a cup of any bleaching agent. include some white towels or linen, you can even add some of your clothes as well.

Do not use hot water to wash the curtain as it might melt or possibly shrink in size. When you are drying do not throw it in the drier instead hang it out in the sun to dry.

Another idea that you can try is soaking the curtain in salt water or a mixture of salt water and vinegar after washing it and then put it back on the rod to dry from there. The salt water and the vinegar will prevent the formation of mildew and moulds.

You can use some of the sprays that are now available for use on shower curtains. The sprays are also designed to prevent the formation of moulds and mildew. The soap foam that tends to stick on the shower curtain should be washed down too.

Showers curtains are not that difficult to look after and they can last you a long time You will also find some great shower curtain ideas from any of the following: fabric shower curtains, blue and purple shower curtains, hookless shower curtain

Home Organization Tips That Will Have Your Home Clean in Less Time

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Not very many people enjoy mold growth OR cleaning the house to help keep it at bay. Unless you’re like Monica on Friends, it’s just a necessary part of life. It’s just something that has to be done, though it isn’t fun. There are a few home organization tips for cleaning that can help trim that time down and make cleaning easier.

Unless your house is small, it is simpler to have duplicate cleaning products. Store one set downstairs and one upstairs. Keeping cleaning products in each bathroom, even in a one floor house, can be a real time-saver. This keeps you from having to go back and get something that you may have forgotten.

Another home organization tip to make cleaning faster is to use a bucket to keep cleaning products in and take it with you as you go. If you are able, use a multipurpose cleaner. This will decrease the amount of cleaners you need.

If you are able, keep products that you would use in a certain room in that location. For example, don’t keep bathroom cleaning products under the kitchen sink. It may seem logical to keep all cleaning products together, but, it is much easier to keep them in the room where they will be used.

No matter where you store your cleaning products, make sure they are out of the reach of children. Always keep them high, out of reach or in a locked cabinet. Use a very secure lock if you decide to keep them in a cabinet. If you use the kind that releases the door when you press down on it, a three year old can figure that out. When cleaning, make sure the bucket full of cleaners stays out of the reach of children.

These are just a few home organization tips to make cleaning quicker. The kinds of products you have and where you store them can lessen your cleaning time.

Essential Cleaning Supplies for a Super Clean Home

Monday, June 15th, 2009

One way to prevent mold from forming is to have a regular housecleaning routine

It is imperative to make sure that you use the correct cleaning supplies when you take on the task of cleaning the house. It is very important! You do not want to damage any surfaces your are cleaning by using all the wrong cleaners. Also cleaning will take less effort and time when you use the proper and essential cleaning supplies.

First of all, read the label on each cleaning product before you purchase it from a store. All labels list any warnings or precautions for the product as well as what the solution ingredients are and its uses.Products labeled "all purpose" may not be best for all kinds of surfaces so don’t be fooled but do be careful.Strong chemicals such as ammonia are in some cleaning products and these products could cause permanent damage to laminate and plastic surfaces.A strong cleaner isn’t always necessary to do the job. Sometimes all you really need is a bucket of warm water and mild soap.

It doesn’t matter if you are ready to do your big annual house cleaning or just a little light housekeeping you should gather all essential cleaning supplies first before you start. So just what are the essential cleaning supplies that you will need to gather?Think about what you things you need to clean in order to answer the question.

The most efficient way of cleaning is to start from the ceiling and work your way down to the floor. To be able to dust to tops os ledges, shelves, and ceiling fan blades you need to have a supply of rags which are indeed basic essential cleaning supplies. Many products on the market today advertise that their product is best on dust however an old rag works just as well as those expensive products. To uses rags that are made form old t-shirts or mismatched socks is cost effective. Rags can be washed and used again rather then thrown out. Even though the rag will remove cobwebs nicely you will need to use furniture polish to dust your shelves and other wood surfaces.Put some furniture polish in your cleaning kit along with a supply of rags.

Your cleaning kit must also contain a window washing cleaner because it is an essential cleaning product.Beware of all the advertisements for expensive products that say they are a streak free product because an inexpensive cleaner will give you the same shine. You don’ts need to spend alot of money on window cleaner to get a streak free shine when a bargain brand works just as well but the trick is to use newspaper instead of paper towels to wipe the glass. It’s handy to have some brown paper bags in your cleaning kit as well so you can put used newspaper in it. Then you can throw the bag in the recycle bin when you are done cleaning.

An anti-bacterial spray should also be included in your bucket of essential cleaning supplies. Some cleaning products are specifically made for certain areas of the house and others work well and are fine to use on all kinds of surfaces. Be sure to get a cleaning product that is specially designed to clean mildew and soap scum in the bathroom and also get a product that can be used on both bathroom and kitchen surfaces.

The last thing to be cleaned in a room is the floor.Though it is not practical to carry around a mop and bucket these things are essential for cleaning your non-carpeted floors. Store these things all in the same place and then you can easily pull them out to use when needed. Be sure to vacuum all areas of the carpet really well. Another item you can put in your cleaning kit if you want is a rug freshener.

Once you have all your essential cleaning supplies, keep them all together in a bucket or box of some sort. When your supplies are organized and you have everything you need it makes the job of cleaning easier and more efficient.
